Franz Bakery Design-Build Project
What the client needed
A new and larger distribution facility to replace the existing facility that also provided office space for operations. The old facility was located in a difficult area and did not provide ease of access for their delivery trucks or semi-trucks.
How did we accommodate the client's needs and deliver the result they wanted?
Over the course of the design, we met with key leaders of the business to fully capture the operations of the business. That way we were able to plot the new building to accommodate their delivery trucks and loading needs. The new site provided ease of access and effective traffic flow. We also were able to capture their color scheme and branding throughout their building. Finally, we were able to deliver on their sustainability goals by designing and building a solar array system that provides all their electricity needs for the year. The project was delivered on-time and on-budget.
What obstacles did we overcome?
There were only minor obstacles on this project. Mostly with getting a permit with the County. We were able to start early though with a Grading Permit to meet schedule needs. We also encountered an issue with the owner’s insurance company. They wanted to upsize the system mid-construction. We were able to meet with them and discuss alternatives to meet their requirements so that the building could be insured per corporate policies.
